The Definition of Friendship

Lately I’ve been feeling the weight of our first world problems so heavy on my shoulders. ⁣ “My friends aren’t good to me. They leave me out. Use me for what I’m worth. Betray us. Discard us when we are no longer convenient.” ⁣ Display shitty behavior but dismiss it under the manipulative guise of drama or knowingly turning a cheek. ⁣ News flash: THAT’S NOT FRIENDSHIP They are not your tribe. ⁣ So maybe we should refocus and think of the ones that want you when you have nothing. Those that have taken the time to get to know you to your CORE. The ones that would sit in silence because they care. Ones that take the time to look beneath the surface because they know the true story. ⁣ Will your instagram feed be as bangin? Will you get a bunch of followers off of their retweet? Maybe not. But your soul will be so much more fulfilled. ⁣ Bottom line >>> If your friends don’t take the time to make room for you at their table, why are you making the effort to bend over backwards so they have a spot at yours??
